This stair nosing is appropriate for both external and internal applications. When used externally, it offers a variety of insert combinations, providing a broad selection of styles and designs to choose from.

Carborundum inserts

Sovereign Gold bases are subject to a minimum order quantity.

e offer a selection of 10 series featuring carborundum inserts, which provide a P5 slip rating for enhanced safety. Our stair nosings consist of two components: the extrusion or base and a separately available aluminium insert that is 2.4 mm thick. Please note that we no longer provide just the carborundum tape as we believe that it can wear down too easily.

Santoprene rubber inserts

Sovereign Gold bases are subject to a minimum order quantity.

10 series with rubber inserts. Santo rubber insert have a P4 slip rating. A rubber insert is more robust, as PVC has plasticizers in it; which overtime may cause the insert to shrink.

Aluminum ripple trim / sawtooth inserts

The ripple trim inserts offer a stylish, and elegant alternative to carborundum and rubber insert; whilst still maintaining a P4 slip rating.

ORDERING

Cut to size and countersunk

If you measure each step and give us a cutting list we will cut to size and countersink holes for no additional cost – You will not have to pay for wastage.

Additionally we will supply plugs and screws.

When it comes to the stair nosing, you can order it up to 4.2 meters long. Just keep in mind that TNT tends to charge quite a bit for oversized shipping and manual handling, so it’s something to think about.

Quick tip! If you’re feeling unsure about the exact measurements, try averaging the lengths and leave a little room for error. Then you can always cut them to fit perfectly on-site!

INSTALLATION

how to install stair nosings

When it comes to putting your stair nosing in place, we suggest using 12-gauge stainless steel screws that are perfect for countersinking. You’ll find that plugs and screws are included with your order, so you’re all set!

You can install this stair nosing on pretty much any surface you have in mind.

Just a friendly reminder: if there’s anything that could affect the stability or strength of the stair nosing, it’s a good idea to sort that out before you start the installation.
