WHAT IS ALPHA STEP 1?
This profile utilises an aluminium tread rail with ball and socket hinge system for superior strength. The system comes complete with a 31mm carpet insert and is rubber backed for quieter transition. This makes it an ideal profile for use in educational facilities, commercial buildings and retail outlets.
Step is a combination of marine grade commercial carpet insert specifically manufactured so it will not harbour mildew or rot whilst removing moisture, grit and grime from footwear. Rubber backed with a high degree of UV protection for heavy duty use and longevity of colour.

Follows the same process as clear anodising but the aluminium is immersed into a tank full of dye which absorbs into the pores of the anodised coating until the depth of colour is obtained.

Tred is a ribbed aprene (rubber) insert that provides greater capacity and effectiveness in removing larger particles from footwear. Ideal for hard wearing conditions such foot traffic off an unpaved area.

Rubber backed with a high degree of UV protection for heavy duty use and longevity of colour. Suitable for both internal and external applications. Ideal for locations with a large focus on aesthetic value.
Clear Anodised
A process for producing a translucent film of aluminum oxide which forms an integral part of the aluminum. This creates a very thin coating of immense hardness. Standard anodising is 15-20um (microns).
Black anodised
Follows the same process as clear anodising but the aluminium is immersed into a tank full of dye which absorbs into the pores of the anodised coating until the depth of colour is obtained.
Aluminium Interlocking hinge (ball and socket) connection (the joins wil not separate)
Closed construction (heel proof, and less chance of build up of debris and moisture when compared to open construction)
DAILY
Normal day-to-day soiling must be removed with a vacuum cleaner. A vacuum cleaner with a rotating brush will give the best results, helping to release dirt.
WEEKLY / MONTHLY
The matting should be carefully rolled back, section by section, and the base of the matwell thoroughly swept/vacuumed. Any debris caught in between the channels of matting should be removed and then the matting rolled back in to position. Take care not to drag the matting – it is designed to simply roll up and unroll again. Dragging the matting could cause damage. Closed construction, non-rollable matting should follow the Daily Routine, but in addition aluminium channels with a mild detergent to help free any soiling.
PERIODICALLY
The Matting can be carefully removed from the matwell and sprayed with a high pressure water machine. Use of strong cleaning chemicals should be avoided.
SPECIFIC ADVICE
Chewing gum must be removed as soon as it appears, by the use of specialist products, such as freezing sprays or gels – failure to remove gum quickly will cause it to become hardened and compacted into the matting surface reducing performance.

As with all matting, when subject to heavy wheeled traffic (scissor lifts/pallet trucks etc) it should be suitably protected with plywood boarding.
